'Basilio' Bench - Giuseppe Rivadossi

Designed in 1970 by Giuseppe Rivadossi, Basilio is one of those rare pieces where the making is as compelling as the object itself. Entirely handcrafted in the Rivadossi family workshop in Italy by his sons Emanuele and Clemente and their team, each piece reveals its construction openly: exposed joinery, the texture of the gouge, the natural grain of the linden wood left to speak for itself. Available in four finishes: smooth natural, smooth dark, gouged natural, gouged dark. In the dark versions, the tint penetrates the wood unevenly, following the grain and relief of each surface. No two pieces are identical. MATERIALS Solid linden wood, varnished. Two surfaces: smooth or gouged. Two tones: natural or ebony-stained.
