Coil Spring Table Lamp in Patinated Iron, European, 20th Century

Iron rod wound into a helix, turns pulled close at disc and lampholder, opening through the middle. Black fabric flex runs inside the spring. Base and coil share a dark mottled patina, lighter in worn patches, left uncleaned and unwaxed. Solid disc base. Studio or small workshop object, European, second half of the 20th century. Conical natural linen shade made in-house, set high so the coil stays in view. One of a kind.
