Martin Visser SZ 01 Armchair for Spectrum in Black

The SZ 01 armchair by Martin Visser for Spectrum is a Dutch design classic from 1960. The design is a characteristic example of Visser's functional and minimalist design philosophy, in which a clear construction and as little material as possible take center stage. The armchair consists of a slender tubular metal frame with a black finish and a seat and backrest made of woven rattan. It is precisely the combination of the sleek, almost industrial frame with the artisanal weaving that gives the SZ 01 its recognizable appearance. The natural material brings warmth to the otherwise minimalist design.
