Mid-Century Brass Candleholders by Pierre Forsell, Sweden, 1960s

A pair of brass candlesticks by silversmith and designer Pierre Forssell (1925–2004), produced by Skultuna Messingsbruk — Sweden's oldest brass foundry, active since 1607 and long known for its collaborations with leading designers. Their angular, faceted bases are typical of Forssell's take on mid-century metalware, favoring geometric form and clean lines. Made in the 1960s, both candlesticks carry Forssell's signature and the Skultuna maker's mark, along with model no. 70. The brass is richly patinated throughout and can be polished to a high shine if desired. Please note these candlesticks are designed for slender candles, approx. 1.5 cm (0.6") in diameter.
