Pair of French Empire Candleholders, Late 19th Century

Bronze with architectural ringed columns rising from circular bases. The neoclassical proportion is severe rather than decorative — restraint as a design principle, not an accident. Natural patina consistent with age. Acquired from a private Buenos Aires collection. Height: 24cm. Sold as a pair.
